THE POPE AND FREEDOM.

Sir, —" Justitia" takes Dr. J. J. North to task for using the term Roman Catholic Church instead of the Catholic Church. I refer "Justitia" to the Catholic Dictionary, page 174 (C-) and right on, where lie will find the Catholic Roman Church in profusion. The heading is as follows in big type, "The CaLholic Roman Church, the Church of the Now Testament." According to Catholic authority Dr. J. J. North is quite in order. Quite in Order.

Sir, —It was indeed refreshing to read Dr. J. J. North's comments on the above. Then " Justitia," takes up his pen and confines all his remarks to Dr. North. It would be well for thi3 correspondent to remember that Dr. North is not the subject under discussion, but Papal intolerance. Surely he can keep to the text. One blessing we owe to Protestantism is religious liberty, a lesson the Roman Catholic Church, priests, bishops and Pope have yet to learn. Joseph Miles.
