The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Tlio cyclone centre is passing northward of Now Zealand, and an extensive depression covers the northern Tasrnnn Sea. Expect warm and humid conditions, and cloudy to overcast at times, with a scattered rainfall, lhavy rain is indicated in tlio far north, but mainly fair in southern districts. Thunder-showers probable in tho central districts of the North Island. Easterly to south-easterly winds, moderate to strong, increasing strong to gale in tho north. Seas rough and increasing on the cast const, particularly northward from Fast Cape; smooth to moderate seas on tho west coast. Local outlook: Unsettled, with heavy thunder-showers. Warm tempera! ures. Burnmcter. midnight, steady .. 30.00 in. Midnight, Wednesday .. 30.10 in. Tempera lures in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 78d0£.; Minimum, GOdce. GOVERNMENT REPORT. Tlio Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—An anti-cyclone has been moving off tho Dominion to-day and tho barometer has fallen slowly with the approach of a depression from westward. Tho indications arc for northerly winds, freshening, and later reaching gale force in places. Seas generally moderate, but rising south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Strong northerly winds and rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather cloudy and unsettled in western districts and in tho far north and south, with scattered rain.
