FROCKS AT THE RACES.

TROTTING CLUB MEETING

Lovely sunshine tempered by a cool refresiling breeze made for ideal conditions at the second day of the Auckland Trotting Club's summer meeting, held at Alexandra Park yesterday. Possibly owing to a rather overcast look in the sky early in the morning, however, the graceful floral chiffons and georgettes were not so prominent as on the opening day. Black was a colour which held considerable p.rido of place, while navy blue and beige also had many adherents, the latter colour being frequently combined with ficello lace in ensemble suits.

Among those present were:—Mrs. P. C. Margetts, who wore a frock of rose and navy floral chiffon, with a tagel straw hat trimmed with maroon velvet; Mrs. R. Buchanan, navy blue crepo do chiiie frock and black crinoline hat; Mrs. J. Graham, black georgette coat over a floral frock, and natural ballibuntal hat bound with black velvet; Mrs. T. Young, oyster grey flecked suit and black crinoline hat trimmed 'with rose-coloured flowers; Mrs. J. A. B. Hellaby, ficelle lace and georgette ensemble bordered with summer fur, and wide-brimmed hat trimmed with an osprey; Mrs. J. W. Ryan, black floral crepe de chine suit and black Bangkok hat; Mrs. P. O'Connor, black and and white pin-spotted crepe de chine with a black picture hat relieved with white. Mrs. Horace Elliott wore a black georgette frock inlet with black chantilly lace and small black hat trimmed with Hat velvet flowers; Mrs. H. J. Bray, Naples blue patterned crepo de chine frock and black Bangkok hat; Mrs. Alfred Kidd, claret-coloured crepe de chipe frock with a black satin coat and black Bangkok hat; Mrs. N. E. Burton, beige laco and georgette ensemble and beige hat trimmed with an osprey; Mrs. A. G. Mabeo, navy crepe do chino frock and hat to tone; Mrs. Stephen Hunter, floral crepe de chine frock under a black satin coat, and small two-toned beige hat; Mrs. Norman Wade, black pin-spotted frock and small black hafc trimmed with an osprey; Mrs. W. Johnston, black satin coat and black velour hat; Mrs. A. Henwood, navy and red figured crepe do chine frock with a black satin coat and black Bangkok hat swathed with primrose satin ribbon ; Mrs. G. McMillan, autumn-toned floral chiffon frock and coatee, and a black hat; Mrs. 11. T. Reid (Hamilton), navy and white checked crepo de chino frock and cinnamon ballibuntal hat relieved with rose pin; Mrs. F. Restall, mauvo and white flecked suit and small hat to tone; Mrs. E. Boucher, navy satin coat with a summer fur collar, and navy Bangkok hat; Mrs. W. Falwell, black silk costume and black hat; Mrs. Carr, navy silk suifc with a rose-pink blouse, and stone-coloured summer felt hat; Mrs. W. Sweotapple, lacquer red crepe de chine frock with a black satin coat and small black hat.

Mrs. B. Abbott was in a navy crepe de chine frock with a beigo collar and black ballibuntal hat; Mrs. R. N. K. Swanston, geranium red crepe de chino frock with a black silk coat and red crinoline hat to tone; Mrs. W. Scholium, black marocain coat and black Bangkok hat; Mrs. Maxwell Walker, powder blue crepe de chine frock with a small bluo hat to match; Mrs. East, terra-cotta figured crepe de chine frock and cocoa-brown ballibuntal hat; Mrs. Norman Davenport, navy blue georgette frock and navy Bangkok hat; Mrs. Koefoed, cigar-brown flecked suit and natural ballibuntal hat trimmed in two shades of brown; Mrs. G. Gribbin, black and white figured crepe do chine frock .under and black georgette coat with a lace hem, and black hat trimmed with a white osprey; Mrs. McDonald, black satin coat and black hat trimmed with osprcys; Mrs. Bain, ravenswing blue satin coat and cinnamon felt hat; Mrs. McVay, navy floral satin frock with a fawn hat. Miss Margery Ryan, black and white pin-spotted crepe de chine and small hat to tone; Miss Dunstcr, mimosa linen frock and tagel straw hat trimmed with black ribbon; Miss C. Martin, beige crepe de chine jumper suit and natural ballibuntal hat; Miss E. Craig, white and primrose silk frock with a wide-brimmed picture hat bound with black velvet; Miss Curran (Dunedin), leaf-green and white flaked coat with a small green hat to tone; ZSliss F. Rathbone, navy figured crepe do chino frock and hat to match; Miss M. Falwell, navy crepe dp chino frock with a leafgreen hat; Miss Elva McDonald, white crepe de chine and powder-blue felt hat; Miss Molly Mitchelson, navy bluo crepe de chine frock and close-fitting red felt hat; Miss J. Johnston, royal blue ensemble and wide-brimmed blue felt hat; Miss M. Walker, black satin frock and black crinoline hat; Miss F.
