TENNIS AT CALCUTTA.
THE SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP
AUSTIN DEFEATS ANDREWS
DELHI. Dec. 29. Crowded galleries saw H. W. Austin at his best when he defeated E. D. Andrews (New Zealand), 6—2, 7—5, 6—l, in the final of the Calcutta lawn tennis championships. The New Zealander forgot that Austin thrives on speed. His only points were gained when he resorted to lobbing and slicing. Brooke Edwards and Miss Sandison beat Hodges and Mrs. Stork, 6—l, 6—3, in the mixed doubles final.
