BOOKMAKING CHARGES.

TWO MEN ARRESTED

On charges of carrying 'on the business of bookmaking two men were arrested afc Newmarket yesterday by Detective Nalder and Constable Hamilton.

Charles Manderson, aged 39, appear, d before Mr. T. L. Thompson, J.P., and w. s remanded to appear in tlto Police C 01: t this morning. John lairley, aged 55, was brought before a justice sliortlj afteiward and was also remanded until this morning. In each case, bail was allowed in the sum of £IOO.
