FASHIONS AT THE RACES.

TROJTING CLUB MEETING. A DAY OF SUNSHINE. The brilliantly fino and warm weather which greeted the opening day of the Auckland Trotting Club's summer meoting at Alexandra Park on Saturday afforded racegoers the long-awaited opportunity of wearing the dainty chiffons and georgettes which are so attractive and becoming. Many delightful frocks were to be seen on Saturday in every conceivable shade and design, the floral frocks with coatees or shoulder capes being first in popularity. The wide-brimmed light' straw hats, cool and shady, and in many cases in their natural shade, proved an attractive and suitablo finish for the draped frocks, while the many parasols which were to bo seen added with their gay colours and novel designs, to tho brilliant sceno presented on the lawn.

Among those present were:—Mrs. E. B. Gunson, who wore a frock of primrose embroidered gcorgotte with a Kashir coat and wide-brimmed Ballibuntal hat; Mrs. A. G. Mabee, white and eau do nil crope de chine and a white felt hat; Mrs. R. T. Michaels, navy bluo crepe do chine relioved with bois do rose, and a small navy Bangkok hat; Mrs. J. A. 8.. Hellaby, royal bluo lace and georgette ensemble with a silver fox fur collar, and a navy hat; Mrs. R. Buchanan, navy figured crepe de chine frock under a black georgette coat, and black crinoline hat bordered with volvet; Mrs. J. Graham, black and jade floral crepo de chino frock with a black satin coat and black Ballibuntal hat; Mrs. P. C. Margetts, navy and rose floral georgette frock and a natural tagel straw hat trimmed with claret velvet; Mrs. T. J. Wathew, black patterned crepo do chine frock with a black georgette coat and primrose straw hat; Mrs. E. Moore, ficelle lace and georgetto with a cream Ballibuntal hat; Mrs. A. Henwood, black embossed satin coat and black Baku hat bound with primrose ribbon; Mrs. G. Gribbin, beigo georgette and lace ensemble and beige hat trimmed with black volvet; Mrs. F. Restall, mauve and white figured frock and mauve hat to tone; Mrs. C. Robinson, navy blue crope de chino with a beigo georgette collar, and navy Bangkok hat; Mrs. W. J. Ryan, black floral crcpo do chino and black Bangkok hat bound with black pin-spotted ribbon; Mrs. J. R. McKenzie (Christchurch), ficelle georgette and laco ensemblo with a picture hat to tone; Mrs. Kelly, black satin coat over a bluo frock, and wine cx-inoline hat; Mrs. Mark Davis, black lace coat and black Bangkok hat bordered with crinoline; Mrs. P. O'Connor, wino georgette frock and hat to tone; Mrs. A. Davenport, red and white figured linen with a coatee of red organdie, and a black laco straw picturo hat; Mrs. McVay, fawn satin suit with a box-pleated skirt, and small fawn hat swathed with maroon velvet; Mrs. N. Reid (Hamilton), beige georgette with a flat-frilled skirt, and primrose Baku hat; Mrs. Koefoed, chocolate brown georgette frock and natural Ballibuntal hat; Mrs. H.
