The generosity of the Auckland Racing Club in donating X 75 toward tlie Auckland Cricket Association's coach fund was Hie subject of a vole of thanks passed by the management committee of the latter bod.v at its weekly meeting last evening. It was further decided to write to the Racing Club thanking it for its great generosity. As a result of the protest lodged by the association with regiird to the bad slate of the wickets at Walker Park, a letter was received from the Auckland City Council pointiug out that the fault was due to a great extent to the recent wet weather, which had retarded tho preparation of wickets. However, the council would see that an improvement waß effected. It was resolved to writo to the City Council thanking it for tho prompt attention given to the matter.

The manager of the Auckland representative team to tour south at Christmas time. Mr. N. C. Snedden, reported that Mr, P. Shaw, a member of the management committee, had offered to present tics to the team, and it was decided to accept the offer and to thank Mr. Shaw for his generosity. The Waikato Association requested that an Aucklund team be sent to Hamilton for a match, either at Christmas time or at the New Year. The request was referred to the country committee. An application from the Y.M.C.A. Club for permission to play the Bay of Plenty representatives at Eden Park on Christmas Day, was granted. Tho King's Old Boys' Club applied for and was granted the regrading of C. R. Walker from senior grado B to second grade. The commitleo decided to suspend all competitions from December 20 to January 10. Mr. D. V. Moore reported that the junior representative match between Auckland and Wellington would bo played at Eden Park on December 26 and 27. The United Suburbs Club wrote with a view to obtaining a ruling in an incident, which occurred in its match against POll- - concluded at Eden Po.rk last Saturday. Tho United Suburbs team was one man short on the first Saturday of the match, but. a regular member was present, being unahlo to field, however, when asked on account of an injury. On the second day permission was sought to bat the member in question, but tho Ponsonby captain refused. United Suburbs contended that neither club nominated its team, and by adopting the attitude of the Ponsonby captain United Suburbs could lodgo a counter-protest against the four Ponsonby batsmen who did not bat _on the first day, and thus did not participate in the game. On tho suggestion of the chairman ihe matter was deferred until the next meeting. An application was received from the Auckland Grammar School for permission to play its annual fixture with tho Napier Boys' High School at the Auckland Grammar School's grounds on Monday and Tuesday next. Permission was granted. Mr. L. B. Schnauer brought up the qticstion of providing a sight screen at the pavilion end of the North Shore ground, as at present play was frequently interrupted to allow people to pass along tho section of the path in a line with the wicket.
