FISHERMAN'S COLLAPSE.

DEATH WHILE NETTING.

VERDICT OF HEART FAILURE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] DARGAVILLE, Tuesday. A verdict of death from heart failure was returned by the coroner, Mr. J. A. McLean, at an inquest into the circumstances of the death of Mr. William Dawson, of Kaihu, who collapsed while netting for fish on Saturday. Eoy George Dawson, who had accompanied his father on the fishing expedition to the coast, said they entered the water with the fishing net at about four o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The net had been spread and he and his father were trawling. As they returned to the beach his father suddenly collapsed and fell into til© water. He died before witness could get him to the beach. Witness said the water was cold. His father had complained about half an hour before of a pain in his chest. Dr. C. H. Crump said death was due to heart failure, following upon overexertion and contact with the cold water.
