WORK ON SHIPS.
SCHEME OF RATIONING. - SYDNEY'S SEAMEN'S UNION. SYDNEY, Dec. 5. The Sydney branch of the Seamen's Union has passed a resolution in favour of a rationing of work. For instance, where a man lias employment continuously on any vessel for say six months, ho must stand " aside for an unemployed member of tho union. A significant fact is that the meeting was attended overwhelmingly by idle seamen. The shipowners regard the resolution as a contravention of the award.
