NATIVE ROCK LILY. PLANT' WITH MANY USES. Arthropodium arrhatum is now in full flower and worthy of special notice, being conspicuous with its much-branched spikes of white flowers standing above its pretty green leaves. It grows in tuft-like clumps and is most valuable for planting on banks, where it shows to advantage in all stages of its growth. It is also useful for planting at the back of the rock garden. It stands dry weather, which makes it valuable for dry banks. Dianella intermedia, another native species, ,is a good companion. It is of dwarf habit, grows in tufts, and sends out long, branching flower-spikes. The flowers are greenish white or purplish, and are followed by handsome, round, purplish berries. Both species are easily grown, very ornamental, and deserving of more extensivo cultivation.
