LOST KITTENS.

Silly little kitten, Fluff! She followed Tim to school; She didn't know that cruel boys Would throw her in a pool! She didn't know that naughty dogs, Would chase her up a tree; And there she clung and mewed all day, And no 0110 seemed to see. She thought of home, and milk, and meat, And tabby mother's purr; And down sho scrambled in tho dark, With wet and muddy fur. But. small lost kittens never find Their own way homo again. Hungry and frightened, all alone, Fluff shivered in the rain— And underneath some hedge, or house, She would have starved, and died, But just by chance, Tim found his pet, When searching far and wide— Now safe and happy, clean again, And fed and full of fun, Fluff with her tabby brothers plays Or slumbers in the sun. But she has learned her lesson well, And so has little Tim, When he goes out her never lets The kittens follow him. —A.A.K.
