PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
MOUNT EDEN CONGREGATION In recognition of; his 14 years' service as envelope secretary of the Mount Eden Presbyterian Church Mr. R. Robertson w'as presented with a specially-bound hymn book at the annual meeting of the congregation on Thursday evening. The presentation was made by the interim moderator, the Rev. W. J. Comrie, who presided over a large gathering. Mr. Robertson suitably responded.
Speaking to the annual report of the session, the session clerk, Mr. J. B. Ramsay, said all the organisations of the church were in a flourishing condition and had made greater progress during the past year than ever before. The treasurer, Mr. W. Drummond, said although the past year might appear to have been an uneventful one, much work had been accomplished. The interim moderator expressed his appreciation .of the way the congregation had rallied round and assisted the session during the illness of the minister, the Rev. L. H. Hunt. He . stressed the importance of the Church keeping in view the possibility of extension work in the direction of Mount Roskill and hoped that the coming year would! see the establishment of a branch Sunday school in that district. < The following members of board of managers, who retired by rotation, were re-elected for a further term: —Messrs. C. M. Brash, J. Is. Ramsay, junr., F. Boyce. R. D. Cowie ;jnd t N. Anderson. The following new members were elected to the boardMesdames S. Falls, J. W. Poynton and E. Simpson, and Messrs. T. F. Bovaird, F. C. Lopdell and H. Randall. This is the first time in the history of the Mount Eden Church that a woman has been elected to the board. Mr. E. M. Edgar was re-elected auditor. ST. ANDREW'S, HENDERSON. PROGRESS MADE BY CHURCH. The reports of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Henderson, which were presented at the annual meeting, showed that ,the progress of the church has been very satisfactory, the year ending with a small credit balance. Reference was, made by several members of the congregation to the good work done by the Rev. C. E. Perkins and Mrs". Perkins. It is recognised that the years of Mr. Perkins' ministry have been the most prosperous in the history of the church.
The various organisations have worked well, each branch showing advancement. Instead of holding a sale of work last year an appeal was made for direct giving with the splendid result of £l4O 17s 6d. It was mentioned that during the three and a-half years of Mr. Perkins' ministry the sum of £733 had been raised by the ladies jruild. The managers for the ensuing year arc Mrs. Fenney, Mrs. Knaggs, Miss Duncan. Messrs. Spencer. D. MacLeod, Fordyce, Pollock, Duncan and Coop.
