CHILDREN'S SPORTS HELD.
FINAL CELEBRATIONS TO-DAY

The Te Aroha jubilee celebrations today took the form of school sports which were held in Herries Park. Children from 18 schools took part and the programme of 50 events, for which there were nearly 2000 entries, was much enjoyed. The sports commenced at 10 o'clock and it was 5.30 p.m. before the last event was decided.
Mr. A. Burns, chairman of the Auckland Education Board, was present and gave a brief address. The points for tho champion school had not been to.talled last evening, but it is Expected that Waihou will be successful. A fireworks display was given at Herries Park last evening, whfji a largo crowd assembled. The fireworks display was the finest ever seen in the district, the colour effects of rockets, shooting' stars, shower rockets and streamers being magnificent. To-morrow will be the concluding day of the jubilee, and will be celebrated by a grand carnival in the main street in the evening.
