BENEFIT CRICKET.
MELBOURNE MATCH DRAWN. RYDER TO DRAW OVER £2OOO. (Received November 10, 12.35 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 18. The cricket match between the Australian team which toured England and J. Ryder's team, for his benefit fund, was continued to-day and ended in a draw. The weather was fine v but the wicket was dead and the outfield sodden. The attendance was 8337. The total attendance at the match was 67,778 and it is expected that Ryder will receive more than £2OOO. When stumps were drawn on Saturday Ryder's team had made 293 in their first innings and Wood full's team 298 for six wickets, Woodfull (53) and a'Beckctt (10) being the not out men. The score was taken to 367 to-day. ]n their second innings Ryder's eleven made 191 for three wickets and declared and Woodfull's team in their second venture had made 96 for five wickets when stumps were drawn.
