WATER POLO.
MATCHES BEGIN NEXT WEEK.
The opening date for the commencement of matches in the 1930-31 competition of tho Auckland Water Polo Control Board wan fixed for next Tuesday evening at tho annual meeting of the hoard last evening. Mr. 11. Hardy presided. It was decided to divide tho competition into two grades. Nominations lor the first grado were recoived from the following teamsWaitemata 1., Waitemata 11., Ponsonby. Mount Eden, Parnell, North Shore. The closing date of nominations for the second grade teams was deferred until November '25. The draw for tho first grade matches, to bo played next Tuesday, the first game to start at 7.15 p.m., is as followsParnell v. Waitemata 1., North Shore v. Waiteniata IT.. Ponsonby v. Mount. Eden. The following officers were elected: Chairman, Mr. K. Hardy: secretary and treasurer. Mr. R. M. Sheffield: record clerk, Mr. K. Hardy: timekeeper. Mr. C. A. Edenborough; auditor. Mr. C. A. Edenborough.
