THREE DAYS TOGETHER.

" Petitioner and respondent were doctor and nurso respectively, in a hospital, and wero married and then separated after three days," said Mr. F. W. Ongley, when the divorce petition of Basil Ainslie Porritt against Alfreda Alice I'orritL was called in the Supremo Court to-day beforo Mr. Justice lvoed. The ground on which the divorce was sought was mutual separation. Mr. Ongley said an order bad been made dispensing with tho attendance of tho petitioner. John Sturrock, civil engineer, father of Alfreda Porritt, said the parties were married in 1927, after which they lived for three days at his home, when the petitioner left, giving no explanation as to why lie left. Witness spoko to his daughter, but she did not say very much. Sho said they had decided to separate, but gave no explanation. To his knowledge the parties had never lived together since. llis daughter remained in New Zealand for about six or seven months and then wont to Queensland. 110 did not know whero tho petitioner went to. Evidenco was given also by Ernest Boocliy, solicitor, of Ilawera. Ho, said that toward Iho end of 1927 Mrs. Porritt saw him, when her husband was about Io leave for England. Witness wrote, to Dr. Porritt at that time, advising him that hi.s wifo proposed to apply for* a divorce on the ground of separation. His Honor granted a decree nisi.
