CLUBS CLOSE SEASON. FUNCTION AT MIDDLEMORE. The official closing of tho Auckland Golf Club took place at Middlemore on Saturday in the presence of a record attendance, a large number of players taking part in the mixed foursomes. Except for a few heavy showers tho conditions were good and the function was a decided success. Those present were tho guests of the president. Mr. 11. Gilfillan and Mis. Gilfillan at afternoon lea. The foursomes were won by Mr. and Mrs. 1!. J. King, who returned a card of 07, 20—71. The next best cards were:—Mr and Mrs. I*2. 13., Brown, 89, 15—71; It. B. Wilson and Miss JS'oakea, S7. —7-1.

HOLED IN ONE. Playing at Middlemore during the weekend Commander H. L. Morgan, of 11.M.5. Veronica, holed out in one at tho 10th hole, a distance of 120 yds. TITIRANGI CLUB. The Titirangi Goif Club's season was brought to a close on Saturday when mixed bogey foursomes were played. The links were in good order, but heavy showers made play somewhat unpleasant at times. About 100 players took part in the match, which resulted in a tie between V. L. Humphreys and Miss R. Cornaga (9), and R M. Dacro and Miss M. Miller (8), who returned cards of all square. The play-off was won by the former pair. Other good cards were as follows:—G. S. Palmer and Mrs. Melrose (17). and Mr. and Mrs. O'Lcary, 2 down: E. G. Tallis and Mrs. L. Lees (14), S. T. Gaskin and Mrs. Banister (8), D Jv. Russel and Miss Romayne (17), F. Trice and Miss M. Robson (121, W. West and Mrs. llosking (7), 3 down; W. J Roger and Mrs. G. L. Taylor (13), A. B.
