CHILEAN SHIP LOST.

BARQUE FOUNDERS AT SEA. SEVENTEEN MEN DROWNED. (Received November 11, 7.43 p.m.) VANCOUVER. Nov. 13. A message from Puerto Montt, Chile, says the' Chilean barque Laura foundered near Chonchi, south of Puerto Montt. The captain and 16 sailors were drowned.

The Laura was a steel sailing ship of 1925 tons—formerly ihe Travancore—built at Glasgow in 1892. She was owned by Borquez, Arrate and Company, of Valparaiso. Puerto Montt is a seaport, ihe capital of flie province of Llanquihue, Southern Chile.
