LORRY AND CAR COLLIDE.
INJURIES TO MOTORIST. [BY TELEGR.mi. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WANGANUI. Friday. While travelling to tho city from Gonvillo about 3 o'clock this afternoon Mr. Kenneth Douglas, of Hamilton, a traveller for tho firm of Park, Davies and Company, Ltd., became involved in a collision with a heavy lorry belonging to Staig's Enterprises. Lid., and Mr. Douglas received injuries to tho face. The collision took place at tho intersection of Wilson Street and Ridgoway Street, tho lorry being on its way to the railway station carrying a load of gear from tho showgrounds. The car was turned right round and finally came to rest against a shop on the corner. A rear wheel of the car was wrecked. Tho occupants of the lorry had a narrow escape from serious injury. Tho driver was unhurt, but two men travelling on the load itself were shaken by a fall on to the road. Mr. Douglas, who was flung forward against the steering wheel of his car, suffered cuts on tho check u:.(! uLuve an eye, but it was later reported that his injuries wero not serioua.
