GRASS TRACK ON MONDAY. The commiltce of the Auckland Trotting Club has decided to open the outside of tha grass track on Monday, provided that conditions arc suitable, for final workouts for next week's meeting. It is expected that the majority of the visiting horses will have arrived by then. TRAINING AT OTAHUHU. TRUSTWORTHY'S WORK OUT. Some interesting track-work was performed at Otahuhu this week. Setting off from the two-miles post, the reverse way round, Trustworthy (G. Brady) ftave Gold Sovereign (G Pa ton) about four lengths start. With a round covered Trustworthy had drawn level, and the two kept together until Gold Sovereign put in a skip down the back straight. Ho Quickly settled down again, and wa? on terms entering the ho:me stretch. Over the last bit, tho mare forged ahead to have an advantage of half a length at tho post Great Ballin (J. G. Robertson) and Lady Yvonne (G. Mitchell) were companions over a mile and a-lialf on tho grass, pacing evenly throughout. An impressive display was given by Hal Chimes (G. Paton). Sunshowcr (T. P. Grimmond) and Rockburn (Reay). Going tho reverse way round they set off from the two-miles peg. llal Chimes, who was unhoppled, had a few lengths start, and then followed Rockburn, with Sunshower three lengths further back. At the milo and alialf peg they were joined by Stanmoor, who followed in behind Bnl Chimes. With a round covered the quartette was closely bunched, but entering the back straight Rockburn and Suiydiower lost their positions. At the end of 12 furlongs Stanmoor had taken the load, und lie maintained it for tho rest of the journey, with Hal Chimes, who . was pacing faultlessly, close "up Then came Sunshower and Rockburn. All Special (Q. Mitchell), Windchat (G. Brady) and Gold Realm (G. Paton) left together on a mile and a-hulf journey. All Special broke up early and it was a long time before she settled down. Windchat put in several skips, bin her driver promptly got her back to an.even gait, and she was running on welj when the post was reached. Gold Realm made only one mistake, but at the finish she was not moving as freely as Windchat. Some Dillon paced at an even {fait over several circuitsjv While he was not on a time-making mission tho manner in which ho worked showed him to be ready for early racing. Master Huia (Grimmond) covered n few circuits at a solid pace. He stepped along with his accustomed freedom, putting in ■ fine aprint over the concluding stages.
