LAVENDER LORE.
Save the stalks from your lavender, and cut them into pieces about three, inches long. Make a solution of saltpetre and luke-warm wate:*, and steep the stalks for about three days. Dry thoroughly, put away m airtight tins. When it is desired to refresh a room, burn a few of the stalks, and a most delightful aroma will be diffused.
