RINGS ON HIS TOES.
CURIOUS FIND IN GAOL. That two missing gold rings were found on the toes of an arrested man war, tho disclosure made at Tynemouth during the hearing of a charge which was a sequel to a recent raid on a North Shields jeweller's shop. Before the court appeared, William Brown Bartlett, aged 19, butcher, Marcus Brown aged 17, painter, and John Dodgson, aged 24, labourer. They were accused of theft, the articles of jewellery involved amounting in valuo to £l9. A policeman stated that when Dodgson was searched during the period of remand, two gold rings were found on the second and middle toes of his left foot; later another gold ring was found on the third finger of his left hand. Dodgson was sentenced to three months hard labour, the other two being bound over.
