YACHT RACING.
EVENTS ON MANUKAU. SEASON OPENS TO-DAY. The yachting season on the Manukau will bo opened this afternoon, when the Manukau Yacht and Motor-Boat Club will hold its first series of races for yachts and launches. No. 1 course will be used, all boats starting and finishing off tho clubhouse. Following are the entries and handicaps :
Yachts (limit boat to start at 2.30). — Waitero 11., scr.; Drone, 7m; Daphno, 22m; Almira, 23m: Rahiri 11., 24m ; Sea Toiler, 32m; Miss Mac, Wild Wave, 33m; Betty, Janet, 34m; Mist Maid, 45m. Launches (limit boat to start 5m after scratch yacht).—Surprise, scr; Rainbow, 17m; Recal 20m: Lily Mop;, 21m: Neuroma, 22m; Kaiapoi, 23m; lolanthe, Te Karo, 31m; Lucinda, 32m; Ramona, 34m; Shark and Miss liuia, withheld. TAURANGA YACHT CLUB. [nr TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Friday. The balance-sheet presented at the annual meeting of tho Tauranga Yacht and Power-Boat Club showed'a credit balance of £3O. Tho building fund totals £192, and the excess of assets over liabilities is £3OBO. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. W. F. Sinclair; commodore, Mr. G. Maltby; vice-commodore, Mr. C. Tilby; rear-commodore, Mr. L. Oliver; secretary and treasurer, Mr. 11. .T. Thomas; committee, Messrs. W. AT. Campbell, A. J. Denby, 11. Cambie, P. Simmonds, C. Millett, B. K Gifford; auditors, Messrs. W. J. Stevens and W. F. Cross.
