FISHING FOR TROUT.

THE WANGANUI RIVER. SOME RECENT CATCHES. [BY TELEG RATH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TAUMARUNUI. Friday. Fishing in tho Wanganui River, Mr. G. Robinson and party secured 15 good conditioned trout from the waters abovo the Matapuna Bridge and Mr. E. Lightfoot secured a good catch near Manunui. The heaviest trout turned the scale at over 81b. It was a good specimen of the rainbow species. Mr. G. Hartnett and party landed 13 fine fish near Piriaka and good fish have recently been taken from below the Victory Bridge. Mr. R. Jacks secured a 101b. fish from the river near Manunui.
