PARTY ON 93RD BIRTHDAY.

MR. W. CLARK, OF REHIA. CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES. [BY TELEGRAPH.-—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAP ABO A, "Wednesday. A large number of the relatives and fiiends of Mr. William Clark, of Rehia, . met yesterday evening in the public hall at Paparoa to celebrate his 93rd birthday. Mr. Clark, who is in excellent health, has 87 direct descendants, many of whom from all parts of New Zealand were present at the function, including his greatgranddaughter, Mrs. Clements, a daughter of Mrs. McMahon, and Mrs. Clements' infant daughter, aged three months, and his daughters, Mesdames Sutherland (Paparoa), Hemphill (Dargaville), Berridge (Auckland), and Brown (Tango- x wahine). Five generations were represented at the gathering. The Eight Hon. J. G. Coates extended congratulations and birthday greetings to Mr. Clark on behalf of those present-. Among the numerous telegrams extending to Mr. Clark congratulations and best wishes were messages from Their Excellenciej Lord and Lady Bledisloe, and from the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon.E. A. Ransom.
