When tho House of Representatives met to-day, Mr. J. G. Latham, Leader of thT> Opposition asked tho acting-Primo Minister, Mr. J. E. Fenton, whether the Labour Ministry had decided that Australia should default in meeting the £18,000,000 loan duo on December 15 by introducing legislation to postpono tho date of thp maturity of tho loan. Mr Fenton replied that tho Government's policy would be made known in due time
In reply to Mr. H. S. Gullett, Nationalist member foi Honty, Mr. Fenton said ho had been in constant communication with the Primo Minister, Mr. Scullin, over tho wireless telephone, and what had passed between them would be announced by way of policy.
Iho loan of £18,000,000 mentioned by Mr. Latham represents tho Commonwealth Government's share of the £27,000,000 of dobts maturing in Australia next month.
ME. E. G. THEODORE. MOTION FOR SUSPENSION. MR. LATHAM GIVES NOTICE. (Received November 7, 11.15 p.m.) CANBERRA, Nov. 7. Tho Leader of the Federal Opposition, Mr. J. G. Latham, has given notice to move for the suspension of Mr. E. G. Theodore from tho llouso of Representatives " until further order of the House. It is understood that this means until after tho civil action over tho Mungana mining leases has been concluded.
