CAR FALLS 200 FEET.
OCCUPANTS' NARROW ESCAPE. VEHICLE BURSTS INTO FLAMES. [by telegraph.— press association.] GISBORNE, Friday. While Mr. B. Lowe and his son were travelling toward Gisborne on the Coast Road the steering gear of their car failed at a bend. The brakes were promptly applied and the car stopped on tf>e edge of the road. The son jumped out and held the car until his father was able to escape, which he did only just in time, for the car immediately fell 200 feet. After reaching the bottom the vehicle burst into flames.
