Tho Trustees under the Vhll of the late Humphrey Rowlings offer Three Scholarships for competition in December iiex. The Scholarships are tenable for years, commencing from the first term in the year 1931 and consist of free i" 1 * 101 * at either the Auckland Grammar School or King's College, as the parents of the scholars mny choose. Notice is hereby given that the Manukau County Council proposes to raise under the provisions of "Tho Cpunties Act, 1920,' "The Local Bodies Loans Act. 1926, ' and all others Acts and Powers (if any), it in that behalf enabling, and subject to the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council, in terms of ''The Local Government Loans Board Act. 1926," a Special Area Loan of £65,000. for the purpose of laying mains and doing all other things necessary for tho supply of water to properties in the said Special Rating Area, and ledeoming the existing Mangere Bridge Waterworks Special Area Loans of £3OOO and £3OO. and Mangere Crossing Waterworks Special Area Loans of £7OOO and £ioo. respectively in the Manger© Riding of the County of Manukau. . Tho Proposed security is a special annually recurring rate of fifty-nyo sixtyfourths of a penny (55-61 d) in the pound (£) on the capital value of all rateable property in tho Mangere Water Supply Special Rating Area of the County, to cover interest, sinking fund and other charges on tho said Loan payable over ft period of thirty years, or until the Loan is fully paid of!, the said Loan being repayable at the end of o term not exceeding thirty years, with a Sinking Fund of one and a-half per centum (1J per cent.) per annum. It is proposed to pay out of tho tho cost of raising flame, but not the nrst year's Interest and Sinking Fund. Tho boundaries of tho Special Rating Area are as follows: All that area in tho North Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks VIII. and Ail.. Titirangi Survey District, and Blocks v., VI , IX. and X.. Otahuhu Survey District, bounded, commencing in tho west at the mouth of Oruarangi Creek, to tho generally by the Baul Creek to the northern most corner of Allotment 89. Manurewa Parish, and by the said Allotment 89 and Allotments 88 and CO ft right line across Weatney Road, and Allotment 61, all of Manurewa Parish aforesaid, to I ukaki Creek; thence by the last-mentioned Creek to the northern sido of a public road forming the southern boundaries of Allotment 154. Manurewa Parish.. by this road and its continuation across Pukfiki Road, and by Pukaki Road to the westernmost corner of Allotment 160, Manurewa. Parish aforesaid, to tho south generally by the said Allotment 160 to and across the mouth of Pukaki Lagoon to tho north bank of Pukaki Creek, by tho said Creek to the northern side of a public road forming the southern boundary of Allotment 56, Manurewa Parish, and by this road and'its continuation across another, public road to tho Riding boundary: thence to the south-east, north-west, north and west by the boundary of Mangere Riding n.i described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, 1922, to tho point of commencement.
