REDS REBUFFED.
SYDNEY CITY COUNCIL. TOWN HALL'S USE REFUSED. SYDNEY, Nov. 4. The Finance Committee of the Sydney City Council refused an application from the "friends of the Soviet Union" to hold a social and dance in the Town Hall. Mr. J. Garden, a Labour member of the City Council, protested strongly against the decision. He said the time would come when the council would give a similar refusal to all people who applied for the hall for a similar purpose. He did not care whether it was to entertain the Duke of York or anybody else, the council would say, "No."
