SUNDAY ENTERTAINMENTS.
Sir, — T wish to compliment Mr. Entrican on the firm stand he is taking regarding permits for Sunday evening entertainments. The next request will be for the dance halls and cabarets to be opened on Sundays. No doubt I am voicing the opinion of many when I say there are too many non-religious attractions on Sunday evenings now without any more. They are only draining the pockets of many young folk who would bo well advised to bank their surplus shillings for a rainy day. If al! the Sunday pictures, etc., devoted their proceeds to charity or other worthy objects, as some already do, there would be some reason in them. I hope the members of the City Council will be strong and wise in this matter. Puzzled.
