FLIGHTS TO AUSTRALIA.
MATTHEWS IN THE AIR. DEPARTURE FROM BANGKOK. (Received October 10, l'i.ta a.m.) BANGKOK. Oct, 0. Captain F. J. Matthews, who is flying to Australia, left Bangkok for Singora to day. Ho was quite satisfied with the repairs to his aeroplane, which had to be half rebuilt, 110 had lioeu detained at Bangkok sinco bis machine, was damaged on September 26.
RAIN DELAYS AIRMEN. EN ROUTE TO ALEPPO. (Received October !), 5.5 p.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Oct. 8. After having been delayed for some timo by heavy rain, the three airmen who are flying to Australia, FlightLieutenant C. W. Hill, and FlyingOfficer C. J. Chahot and Major C. M. Pickthorne, left Constantinople at 9.15 p.m. to-day for Aleppo.
KINGSFORD SMITH BETTER READY TO MAKE A START. LONDON. Oct. 8. Wing-Commander KingsforH Smith has recovered from nn attack of influenza. Tie is awaiting favourable weather to start, on his flight to Australia.
