AUCKLAND GUN CLUB. There wns a good attendance at the Auckland Gun Club's grounds. Pakura.nga, yesterday. when a series of matches was held. Conditions were good and some very fine shooting was witnessed. A (en-bird match was divided by A. F. Maercdie ( L. F. Ramsey (17yds). H. F. Wright (I3ydflt, and J. Schofield (14yd*i. H. E. Wright ( 13yds), E. N. Bnnatt (13yds), -f. Milne (KJyds), and I*. IT. Hurtley (12yds). They shot-off, going bark a yard each shot, and some great shooting resulted. Wright eventually winning off 23yds on the '2lst. bird, E. <f. Schofield being third off '22 yds. A girnernck match resulted in a win for A. E. Macredie. who started at Hyds and finished at 27yds. one of tho ' best perform a uces recorded in the history of the club. h. Petersen (13yds nnd 23yds). and F. Keaue (11yds and 21yds), tied for second plficc. In tho absenco of Mr. W. Curtis, tlio official referee. Mr. O. Cairns, the Scottish international shooter, most ably officiated. The next shoot will he held on Saturday, October 18, when Mr. C. E. Hodge's trophy will be competed for.
