ROTORUA NOTES.
LEAGUE OF MOTHERS. The monthly meeting of the League of Mothers was held in the Mothodist School Hall on Friday, Mrs. Bertram presiding over an attendance of 40 members. Mrs. Bertram introduced Sir George Fowlds, who addressed the meeting on tho need for better relations between nations and individuals. Mrs. Mitchell, president of the Auckland provincial centre, also spoko at tho meeting. Sho oxplained tho methods of working a branch of tho league, and gavo valuable hints and advice as to certain matters requiring explanation. Mrs Bertram thanked tho speakers for their addresses, and tho mombers showed their appreciation by a hearty vote of thanks. Songs were sung by Mrs. Fraer, who was accompanied by Mrs. Wallis, and by Mrs Watson, who accompanied herself on tho mandolin. Tho hostesses for the afternoon were:—Mesdames Roberts, Nelson Oakes, Lindsay, Morlund and EI. IIDavies.
Mrs. F. W. Wilkio. of Pukaki Street, has entertained several of her friends recently to meet her sister-in-law, Mrs. A P Speedy, of Hamilton, who is visiting Rotorua. On Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Wilkie received a few friends at an afternoon tea party. In the drawing room wore bowls of Japanoso cherry blossom and Iceland poppies, and crystal vases of anemones, sweet peas and carnations. The hostess woro a frock of beige ninon and laco. Among tho guests wero Mrs. A. P Speedy, Mrs. Bunyard, Mrs. Hitchcock. Mrs. Herrold, Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Moorhouse, Mrs. Butt, Miss French. On Tuesday evening several friends wero entertained at bridge. Among those present wero Mrs. A. P. Speedv, Mrs. Booth, Mrs. R. Griffiths, Mrs. Wallis, Mrs. Moorhouso, Miss D. Griffiths, Miss Booth.
