A PREFERENCE DIVIDEND. At the annua! meeting ot shareholders in A. and T. Burt, Limited, held in Dunedin. the directors' report and the nc counts were adopted, and the payment of a dividend of 6 per cent, on preference share capital was approved. The retiring directors, Messrs. W. Morley and 11. L. Taplcy, were - re-elected. The chairman stated that despite the difficult trading conditions experienced throughout the year, the annual accounts disclosed a very satisfactory increase in business. Mr. Alex. Burt having for health reasons retired, tho directors elected Mr. Morley chairman and managing director. Mr. W. Garrett, of Auckland, was appointed general manage!* in tho place of Mr. J. 11. Johnston, who had resigned in order to proceed to Canada.
