SCHOOL CONCERT.
MOUNT ALBERT GRAMMAR. Tho boys of the Mount Albert Grammar School gave an enjoyable concert in the Town Hall last evening in tho presence of a largo gathering of parents and friends, that filled every seat in the hall. Part songs, song revues, recitations and instrumental selections comprised a long and varied programme. One of the most impressive items was the singing of "The Mighty Deep" by the basses of the school choir, and the new school hymn, "Envoi," words by Mr. J. A. W. Bennett, an old boy, and music by Dr. W. E. Thomas.
A fine volume of sound was obtained when the whole school sang "The Song of tho Homeward Bound," "Casey, the Fiddler," "Tho Leader of tho Town Brass Band," and "Time to Go," while the part-song singing of the choir gave much pleasure Scenes from "David Copperfiold," recited by two of the boys, concerted recitations, a humorous interludo entitled "Pseudo Masters of the School," a polted revue, in which about 30 boys participated, complete with a Hawaiian band, and a tableau vivant, "The Doll Shop," adroitly performed by members of School House, were among the host of musical and dramatic novelties that entertained a very appreciative audionco.
