UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE.
Sir, —It will be a lucky thing for the United minority Government if the Legislative Council throws out the unemployment insurance scheme. The workers do not want a footling pound a week for doing nothing. They want work and decent wages. There is plenty of work that needs doing in a young, pnrtlvdeveloped, food-producing country like New Zealand. There is only one thing to do to make up for the fall in the price of our exports, and that is to produce more. This means-that more peoplo must become primary producers. E. Stevenson.
