PRIESTS IN MALTA.
'Sir, —Kindly allow me to add a qualification to one statement in the report of my remarks given in to-day's issue of tho Herald. Instead .of "priests formed one in eight of the population—a larger proportion than anywhere else in the world," I should have said "priests formed a larger proportion of tho population than anywhere else in the world, as much as one in eight, it has been said." I have not been able to verify theso figures so far. W. Law,son* Marsh.
