OBITUARY.

MRS. SUSAN CAMPBELL. Tho death has occurred at Ellerslio of Mrs. Susan Campbell, for many years a resident of Matakana, at tho ago of 83 years. Mrs. Campbell was born at Highwickham and went to Queensland in tho ship Blenheim in 1857. Soon afterwards she arrived in New Zealand in a ship manned by Captain Meiklejohn and his sons and for a number of years resided in Big Omaha. In 1866 she married Mr. Alexander Campbell, of Matakana, where sho lived for over 60 years. About three years ago Mrs. Campbell moved to Ellerslie. Mr. Campbell died 27 years ago. Mrs. Campbell leaves a family of eight, Mrs. J. Sinclair, Mrs. F. Wright, Mrs. F. Ritchie, of Auckland; Mrs. J. Morison, of Kaipara Flats; Miss I. Campbell, of Ellerslie: Mr. A. J. K. Campbell. Mr. W. R. Campbell and Mr. E. Y. Campbell, of Matakana. There arc 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MR. WILLIAM MYLES. [liV I'ELEORAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Wednesday. The death occurred at Patea yesterday of Mr. William Mvles, aged 70. Mr. Myles was for many years a well-known figure in the Patea and WaVerley districts. Born in Victoria, he came to New Zealand and spent, his youth in tho Nelson district. He then settled at. Christchurch and later farmed at Makirikiri, on the Wanganui River, and in Taranaki, where he remained for about 15 years. He leaves a widow, five sons and four daughters.

MRS. NEWTON KING. [by TELEfiRArn. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Wednesday. Tho death occurred yesterday of Mrs. Mary King, widow of the late Mr. Newton King. Jlrs. King was the youngest daughter of Dr. St. George and the granddaughter of Mr. J. T. Shaw, both pioneer settlers who arrived in Now Plymouth in 1841 by the ship Amelia Thompson. She was greatly interested in tho Plunkot Society an>? was patroness of tho New Plymouth branch. She is survived by tho following sons and daughters:—Mrs. Sydney Aljen, New Plymouth; Mrs. Noel Fookes, Waitara; Messrs. Truby King, Stratford; Waldyve King, New Plymouth; and Eliot Bang, New Plymouth.
