,TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. 11. M. Vincent last evening : —The extensive area of low barometric pressuro on tho Tasman Sea has culminated in the formation of another cyclone centre, which is expected to causo stormy weather, with heavy rain over most of the Dominion. Thunder is probable in places near the west coast, accompanied by hail at times. Temperatures will be milder temporarily, then becoming cold again. Northerly to northeasterly winds, strong to gale, backing to west. Seas rough generally. Local outlook: Overcast and stormy, with heavy rain.

GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—The anti-cyclone has passed away eastward and an intense and extensive depression is moving on to the Dominion. Indications aro for strong northerly to westerly winds, reaching gale forco at many places. Seas heavy on the west coast south of Capo Egmont, rough thence northward and off-shoro south of Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate but rising. Strong north to west winds to gale in the eastern Tasman Sea, with rough seas, winds later backing to south-west-erly. Weather cloudy unsettled and squally generally, with rain in the western and southern districts. Heavy falls, with somo flooding, on tho west coast of tho South Island.
