YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN SOUTH.
Auckland.—Boisterous south - west weather prevailed yesterday and frequent heavy showers were experienced in the morning. The conditions improved in the afternoon and evening. The barometer rose after mid-day and registered 29.85 in. last night. Wellington.—The weather changed for tho worse again yesterday. Although tho sun shone in the morning clouds gathered and by three o'clock in the afternoon rain was falling. The rain ceased about six o'clock but recommenced again about 11 p.m. The wind was a light southerly.
Christchurch. —The weather was cold and wet yesterday with a high wind from the south-west. Occasionally there w ' aS a gleam of sunshine. The maximum temperature was 46 degrees Tho barometer was rising and tho reading in the evening was 30.00 in.
Dunediti. —Following two days of clear skies and bright sunshine, the weather was unsettled yesterday. Light rain during the morning, but the conditions improved later, the sun breakinc through at intervals The wind was light to fresh from the southwest. The maximum temperature was 52 degrees.
