SUPERANNUATION FUNDS.

APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEE.
[BT TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLINGTON, Friday.
"There is no possibility of the report of the committee set up by the Government to inquire into the position of the superannuation funds being presonted to this session of Parliament," said the Hon. R. Masters, the deputy-leader, in the Legislative Council to-day. "A committee has been set up consisting of the Public Service Commissioner, the head of tho Treasury, and the Public Trustee, together with representatives of the various superannuation funds," said Mr. Masters. "The order of reference has not yet been made up. and therefore you can see the impossibility of placing the report on the table this session." Sir James .Mien amended his motion' to read that the report should be laid before tho council at the earliest possible date, and this motion was carried.
