SENSATIONAL TRAGEDY.
MAN SHOT DEAD IN COURT.
SURRENDER OF ASSASSIN
From the United Stales comes tho story of a sensational tragedy in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr. Motley H. Flint, a well-known financier, being shot dead on leaving tho witness-bos after giving evidence in a caso of alleged stock swindling. At one time Mr. Flint conlrolled, it Is stated, £60.000,000 of invested capital. Three shots wore fired at him by a mun who afterward throw the revolver at Flint's body and raised his hands in surrender to the court officials.
Tho tragedy threw tho court into an uproar, as the people present,shouted and dodged behind tho furniture to escape the bullets. Flint, One of the principal figures in the caso, recently returned from Europe to face accusations resulting from an investigation, into tho Julian Corporation affairs. Tho assassin told thfc police that ho lost money in the Julian Corporation collapse, and therefore shot Flint, adding: " I decided he was responsible for tho whole affair."
