WEDDING.

CRAWFORD-BATTING.

The wedding was celebrated at St. George's Church, Kingsland, on Wednesday evening of Miss Joyce Amelia Gertrude Patience Batting, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Batting, of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, to Mr. Roland Keith Crawford, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Crawford, of Altham Avenue, Kingsland. The service, which was fully choral, was conducted by the Rev. K. J. McFarland, assisted by the Rev. J. H. Cable, of Henderson. The bride, who entered the church with her brother-in-law, Mr. Fred. Furnell, wore a frock of white georgette inset with silver lace, the skirt was slightly flared and her embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of fresias, rose daffodils and maidenhair hern, There were four bridesmaids in attendance. Miss Phyllis Crawford, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Evelyn Nevinson, wore frocks fashioned alike in coral pink and powder blue satin beaute respectively. "The long flared skirts were picot-edged and scalloped on to the bodices. Tulle headdresses were worn to match their gowns. The two younger bridesmaids were Miss Lily Taylor and Miss Ivy Taylor. The former wore maize crepe de chine with picot frills and forget-me-not trimming, with head-band of maize tinted flowers and silver leaves. The latter was in coral pink crepe de chine with picot frills and velvet flowers, and head-band of pink flowers and silver leaves. Both carried baskets of flowers to tone. In attendance as flower girl was little Daphne Taylor, who wore a frock of nattier blue crepe de chine. Her head-band was of silver leaves and forget-me-nots, and she carried a horseshoe of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Gordon Crawford, as best man, and Mr. Harold Robert Harrison, of Devonport, was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at Hie parish hall. Mrs. Fred. Furnell, the bride's sister, received, wearing floral taffeta with beige coat trimmed with fur, and hat to match. Mrs. Crawford wore a navy blue ensemble with hat to match.

HARE—HERBERT.

The wedding was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Kaeo, recently of Miss Ruby Violet Herbert, of Kaeo, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. T. Herbert, of Kaeo, to Mr. Glen Athole Hare, second son of Mrs. T. Urquhart, of Mount Eden, and the late Mr. S. Hare. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. J. Clarke and the wedding music was played by Miss N. Hayes. The bride, who was given away by lier cider brother, Mr. C. Herbert, wore a gown of cream crepe de chine and lacc, the skirt of three flares having an uneven hemline. Her veil was caught with n coronet of orange blossoms and pearls, and she carried a sheaf of lilies and orange blossoms. Miss May Bramley, niece of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a frock of pink crepe jdo chine and silver lace and carried a bouquet of daffodils and freesias. The little flower girl was Phoebe Bramley, who wore apricot crepe do chino and gold lace, with posy of primrosc-s. Mr. Chris Hare, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The reception was held in the Kaeo Hall, Mrs. Herbert, with Mrs. Urquhart, receiving the guests. Mrs. Herbert wore a frock of tomato silk repp with black hat and carried a posy of mauve stock and anemones. Mrs. Urquhart's frock was of floral crepe de chino with silk marocain coat and picture hat. Her posy was of pansies and forget-me-nots.

SA LMOX—BALLANTYNE.

[ The wedding was recently celebrated in (lie Presbyterian Church, Whangarei, of Miss Margaret Ellen Ballantyne, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Ballantyne, of Whangarei, and Mr. Kenneth Montgomery Salmon, second son of Mr. and Mrs. If. Salmon, also of Whangarei. The Rev. W. Elliot performed tho ceremony. Tho bride wore a gown of ivory satin and silver lace, with a spray of orange blossom. Ilcr embroidered tulle veil was arranged cap-fashion and held in place bv a coronet of orango blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers and maidenhair fern. In attendance wcra two bridesmaids, Miss Annio Ballantyne, sister of tho bride, and Miss May Salmon, sister of the bridegroom, who wore frocks of blue crepe de chino and silver lace and pink crepe de chine and silver lace respectively. Their head-dresses wero of blue and pink tulle and they carried bouquets of daffodils and maidenhair fern.' Mr. L. Salmon attended his brother as best man and Mr. D. Ballantyne as groomsman. Tho wedding music was played by Mr. A. Dobson. A reception was afterwards held at the residcnco of tho bride's parents.
