They had had quite enough of rushing for shelter with yards of chiffon streaming behind them . . . and being photographed in the process for the benefit of readers ei the popular press! Naturally we. have sets of comparative costumes put before lis: costumes which set out to show that our mothers wore skirts such as those we are dallying with at the moment. But at least they wore their comic clothes with dignity, and are not reported as having trampled upon each other to get out of the wet!
