ENGLAND'S BEST-DRESSED MEN

England is tho land where the bestdressed men are said to abound, we are told.

In private life King George dresses formally and with scrupulous regard for the conventions. His clothes are dark, and his neckties are never vivid—his favourite tie being the red and black stripe of tho Guards Brigade. Instead of a scarf-pin, he wears tho old-fashioned tie-ring. Even his shooting suits aro cut on severe lines, and of dark material. On the Britannia, yachting, ho wears a double-breasted blue serge suit, with rather wido trousers.

Tho Prince of Wales has kept up the hereditary reputation as a leader of fashion. His innovations, some experts say, lean too much toward the spectacular. For a while ho wore turnod-up trousers with morning dress, but the idea never found favour, and ho has returned to the general mode. In the summer tho Prince has visited golf courses showing all the colours of tho rainbow. The Prince's tasto in hats runs to bowlers, with very narrow brim. For hunting and shooting ho gets into old and friendly garments.

The Duke of York inherits from his father, the King, a love of formal dress. Light grey is his favourite colour for lounge suits, and ho seldom wears a soft collar. His neckties are dark and tied in a smal knot. He is correct in dress and scarcely has any individual peculiarities. Lloyd George is considered ono of the best dressed of the older men in the House of Commons. He carefully chooses his ties to match his suits. He deems it a matter of courtesy to be always dressed for an occasion.
