FRUIT AND PRODUCE PRICES. Apples were very dull of sale at the Auckland City Markets yesterday. Large stocks of lemons brought low values. There was a good demand for bananas at 24s to 25s a case and 15s to 22s a case, according to grades. Shipments of Samoan and Fijian bananas will arrive during the next two weeks. Island oranges sold readily at 14s to 16s a case. Short stocks of passions realised high prices. Foorman oranges were not sought, while, except for best quality offerings, tree tomatoes met with a poor response. A fair quantity of California!] grapes and plums arrived by the Golden Cross this week.

The field produce section was well-sup-plied with all lines of vegetables. Oversupplies of cabbage sold at Is to 5s a sack. Adequate stocks of new potatoes brought 2d to 3£d a pound. A shipment of 1700 to 1800 packets of American onions arrived this week by the Golden Cross, and brought 18s 6d a bag and £1 a crate.

No changes in values were noted in the poultry market. A keen demand existed for short supplies. Ducklings sold at Is 6d each, and day-old Leghorn chicks at 9d to Is each. The. values for the various grades of eggs remained unchanged. Best grade hen and duck eggs are both realising Is 5d a dozen. There was a fair inquiry for plentiful supplies. Dakotns are in weaker demand and sales have been made at values equivalent to below ,t!2 ss. The Waipiata took 2900 sacks from Timaru this week, and 500 odd sacks from Lvttelton, while the Waikouaiti took a cargo of 5500 sacks from Lyttclton. Tho next boat is tho Waimarino, due to leave Lyttelton about the middle of next week. There is naturally very littlo business passing at present and (he price is tho lowest for this period for very many years. Wheat, oats and chaff show little animation in the market. Millers are buying occasional lines of next season's wheat at 5s 9d f.0.b., or 5s 6d to 5s 7d on trucks, according to stations. Fowlwheat is firm at 6s 2d f.0.b., s.e.
