MISHAP AT MINE.
man almost buried. SECTION OF WALL COLLAPSES. [by TELKGR.vrn. —own correspondent.] WHANGAREI, Friday. An accident occurred at Jackson and Fanty's mine, Hikurangi, yesterday afternoon. Mr. W. Jackson and Mr. G. Codling were putting in a drive and Mr. Codling went out to get some timber. As ho was about to return he saw a section of the wall give way, partly burying his partner. His calls for assistance were answered by a large number of miners and tho small fall was soon cleared away. Mr. Jackson was found to be suffering from bruises and shock. Tho mine is a small one and leased from the liikurangi Coal Company. • .
