HOWICK TOWN BOARD.

PROGRESS OF ROAD WORKS. Good progress with the roading works being carried out in Howick was reported to the last meeting of the Town Board. Mr. John Crawford presided. The engineer repotted that the laying of the half width of the main highway as far as the boundary would be completed in a few days. The excavation work for the Stockade Hill reservoir had been finished, and the construction of the walls had been begun. It was arranged that portions of the roadway in Uxbridge Street should ba filled and levelled.
