Old Gloves.—Use the fingers, slit up, as polishers for your nail " buffer," and the hands joined, for rubbing up the silver on the dressing-table. Broken gramophone records can be used for getting up a dying fire. There must, however, bi a sufficiently bright glow to ignite the records. Old toothbrushes which have been thoroughly wakhecf will be found excellent for cleaning brooches, rings and other pieces of jewellery with eau-de-Cologne. Pearls should not be wetted with eau-de-Cologne.
