THE CAT BURGLAR.
At midnight on Wednesday, Mrs. Housekeeper was wakened by a loud crash. She discovered that an attempt had been made to forco open a dish containing one smoked fish. On Thursday morning, Mr. Thorn Cat, having developed a largo molar, was examined by the eminent dentist, Dr. Chimpanzee. Mr. Cat's head was tightly held, and with Drs. Chimp and Orang both
nulling, the tooth came <rat end went flying through the window. As it happened, Detective Knowall Monk was passing beneath, and was struck by a weighty missile. He picked it up, and discovered the clue that had been missing from tho burgled fish, a large round bone affixed to a cat'# molar. He hastened into the dentist's room, and arrested Mr. C-at at once. „
'As n. sequel, Thom Cat was charged at tho Police Court this morning with burglary (attempted). The sentence jpasflad and carried out was one good shaking, and no fish for a week.
